Consign Your Tack
Thank you for considering our new tack consignment business! We are now accepting tack/barn items on consignment at our small shop in Lockhart, Texas.
WHAT ITEMS DO WE ACCEPT?
We accept all sorts of tack items, stable items, saddles, etc. All items will be evaluated and and priced accordingly. Items accepted include but are not limited to:
Saddles
Saddle pads
Bits, bridles, reins, tie downs, and training tools
Sport boots/bell boots
Winter blanket/sheets/therapy products
Grooming supplies, brushes, hoof picks, combs
Stable supplies
Western rodeo shirts/boots/hats/belts/attire
Items must be in good, safe, marketable quality. Items that are dirty, damaged, unsafe, or undesirable may be rejected for consignment.
DROP OFF/SHIP INS
Items can be dropped off at our facility, or mailed in at sellers expense. You are also welcome to coordinate drop off at a meetup place, if we plan to be there. We are unable to travel solely to pickup items, due to time constraints. Items must be dropped off in a box, tote, or closed bag (trash bag is fine). Loose items will not be accepted. Please include your name/phone/email on a note inside your box/bag. Mailed in items may be sent to our home facility. Please request the address.
PRICING
We set the price for all items and provide inventory lists with suggested pricing to consignors for approval before listing items. Prices are determined based off comparable new and used items on the market that are of similar brand and style. Items less than $10/ea in value may be combined into a bundle, or tack lot. You may be offered “buy it now” pricing for small value items at “trade in value” to go straight to our inventory bins, without the tagging process.
SHIPPING
We handle shipping for all items. Shipping is estimated and charged to the buyer.
TURNAROUND TIME
We cannot guarantee turnaround time on the selling of any items. Items will be listed regularly, and they will sell as they sell. Please to not contact us to get an update on when items will sell - we do not know, but will give it our best effort to get them moved. Consignment items may remain on consignment for up to 12 months, before we rotate them out of inventory. We do reserve the right to pull items from inventory before the 12 month deadline. Consignors may elect to have items returned or disposed of. If you would like to pickup your items to remove them from consignment, please give us a 2 week notice, so that we can pull items from inventory, and have them ready for you. If you send a buyer our way for your item, and it sells while it is in inventory, a consignment fee will still be charged for handling the sale.
LIABILITY
By submitting your items, you agree to hold Lee Bailey Bradshaw / Black Cursive Barrel Horses harmless of any liability regarding your items. We will do everything in my power to keep these items safe, secure, and in the best condition possible, but cannot be held liable for them. By submitting your items, you also agree to hold Lee Bailey Bradshaw / Black Cursive Barrel Horses / The Tack Tank harmless for any damage caused BY your items, to buyers. Any tack that is deemed potentially unsafe will be rejected.
FEES AND PAYOUT
Consignment fee is 20% of the sale of on all items for the year of 2026. Starting in 2027, fees will increase to 25% to help cover the additional expenses incurred by our new program and processing fees. Consignment payouts are issued once monthly, either by Venmo (preferred) Cash App, Apple Pay, mailed cashiers check, after the 1st of each month. We will no longer issue cashiers checks for less than $100. If your payout is less than this amount, it will be rolled to the following month. Mailed cashiers checks incur a $5 fee, deducted from your payout. We no longer issue checks, as we had issues getting consignors to cash them in a timely manner. For payouts, we work down our list in alphabetical order and it takes time to get through everyone due to payment/transaction thresholds. 1099s may be issued for any consignor whom received over $2000 payout in a calendar year, to abide by tax requirements. You can also use your payouts towards a CREDIT. By submitting items and accepting payments, you agree that you are the sole owner of the items.
